Vacancy for Home-Based Medical Secretary/Administrator

We are looking for secretrarial/administrative support for our team of psychotherapists and our psychiatrist. The applicant ideally has a home-office set up since the position is entirely remote-based. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, highly motivated and has excellent secretarial, organisational and communication skills.. The work is demanding, complex and requires the utmost sensitivity and confidentiality.

START DATE: Immediate (from January 2012).

LOCATION: The job is remote based, the applicant can be situated anywhere. Computer, phone line & mobile telephone necessary.

HOURS: Administrative work during the following times:
Saturday 9am - 5pm
Sunday 12pm - 5pm
Plus ad-hoc holiday/sick cover at these times: 8am – 2pm and 2pm – 8pm

This post might have scope for expansion in the long run. As a self-employed contractor you will received an hourly rate of pay plus commission.  

REQUIREMENTS: Previous secretarial/ administrative experience in psychiatry, counselling, mental health or other NHS setting is essential. You must also have strong diary management skills, excellent I.T. skills and be able to work with an online computerised appointment system. There will be many telephone and email enquiries from patients enquiring about counselling, psychiatry and medico-legal services or passing messages to psychiatrists/therapists. The telephone line needs to be attended to with a calm, professional manner and emails dealt with promptly.

The role is a demanding one, with many different tasks. Only those with relevant experience, strong motivation and excellent attention to detail should apply.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • A strong interest in mental health and helping others.
  • Previously worked within a counselling agency, for a consultant psychiatrist or the NHS.
  • To treat all patient information confidentially.
  • Excellent communication skills and sympathetic telephone manner (some of the callers will be in distress).
  • Ability to give excellent customer service.
  • Computer Literate (Word, Excel and internet).
  • Superb attention to detail.
  • Highly motivated and self-disciplined.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, dedication and good work ethic.

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Familiarity with health insurance processing.
  • Experience of working from home with an office already set up.
  • Would like the applicant to be involved for the long term.

Vacancy for London Cognitive Behavioural Therapist

We are looking for a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with psychodynamic or integrative training to work at least 10 hours a week on a sessional basis. You will receive an hourly rate per client session.

We only accept therapists of the highest calibre.

Requirements:

  • You will be accredited with the BABCP or Chartered with BPS and have completed formal CBT training at a recognised British Institution.
  • You will be registered with the major health providers - AXA, BUPA etc
  • You will have experience in previous employment or private practice as a CBT therapist, working face-to-face with adults (and preferably couples, and telephone counselling)
  • You will hold professional indemnity insurance. You should be dedicated, efficient, hard-working and above all committed to clients and to your professional development.
  • As an independent practitioner, you will work to your own style and with your own supervision. You will benefit from being aligned with reputable therapy rooms and administrative support is provided to you.

Vacancy for London Consultant Psychiatrist

We are looking for a General Adult Consultant Psychiatrist to work at least 10 hours per week in our Harley Street (W1) and/or City (EC2M) rooms to complement our private psychology services.

Applicants must be self-employed with personal indemnity insurance and should have GMC registration. Applicants will possess MRCPsych or equivalent and be on the Specialist Register. We are looking for a candidate who is enthusiastic, flexible, hard-working and dedicated to professional development. You will be registered with the major health insurance providers such as AXA, BUPA, CIGNA, Standard Life and PruHealth.

You will received a fee per client hour. This work would suit someone looking for flexible working hours and to be situated in the prestigious area of Harley Street or in the thriving area of London’s financial District (Bishopsgate). It would suit someone looking to practice independently yet receive a constant stream of referrals as well as administrative support. We also have a medical-legal division in which you may wish to work as well. This position may suit someone wishing to supplement NHS work, or wishing to enter private practice as part of an organisation.
