Julie is a chartered counselling psychologist, registered with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Her clinical experience began in 2007, and since then she has worked with adults in various settings including the NHS, higher education and the private sector.
She has worked with people with a broad range of emotional and psychological difficulties such as depression, anxiety, panic disorder, health problems, isolation, childhood abuse, trauma, loss and past and present relationship problems. She is able to offer both short and long-term counselling and psychotherapy, taking into account the nature of clients' concerns and needs. Julie has an interest in the psychology of health and has published research in this area.
Julie is an integrative practitioner meaning she is able to draw on her knowledge of psychodynamic (including brief Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy), cognitive-behavioural (CBT) and humanistic approaches to help reduce psychological distress and to enhance psychological well-being. She will work collaboratively with you to ascertain which way of working best suits your current needs. At the heart of Julie’s practice is a commitment to providing a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can feel able to explore your difficulties in depth and where you can begin to increase your self-understanding in order to bring change and possibility.
Julie is able to work with existing clients via telephone and Skype. She is a recognised health insurance provider with Cigna and Aviva.Back
