BSc Psychology & Counselling
Michelle Magri is a chartered psychologist registered with the BPS. Her training has provided her with specialist knowledge and practise of cognitive behavioural (CBT) therapy, particularly schema therapy. However, her approach is largely integrative and so she will draw on other therapeutic modalities (e.g. psychodynamic, humanistic) and psychological theory when necessary to understand someone’s presenting difficulties.
Michelle has worked in a variety of settings and client groups adopting either a time-limited framework working on a specific difficulty or working over a longer period of time on a range of difficulties. Michelle also works for East London Mental Health Trust working with individuals suffering with severe and enduring emotional difficulties.
Michelle will provide an environment in which you feel understood and not judged but also one which is emotionally challenging. She believes that establishing a therapeutic relationship in which a client can feel safe is the cornerstone to her practice and believes this is fundamental in the process of change.
Michelle is skilled in working on a range of psychological and emotional difficulties which include anxiety, OCD, PTSD, phobias, depression, personality disorder, self-harm, relationship difficulties, self-esteem issues, anger, eating disorders, substance abuse and dependency, traumatic experiences, transitional difficulties, sexual and emotional abuse. Michelle works with couples, adults and adolescents. She has a degree in psychology and counselling. She is currently conducting research on infidelity.Back
