DClinPsychol, MSc; BPS and HCPC Registered
Dr Monika Wieliczko is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with over 8 years of clinical experience in a variety of mental health settings. She is registered with the Health and Care Professional Council (HCPC) and is a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS). Monika has worked within the NHS as well as private and charitable organizations with a wide range of client groups including adults, children, families and couples. She provides short-term and long-term therapy tailored to your individual difficulties and qualities.
In her work, Monika draws predominantly upon psychodynamic and attachment-based psychotherapy approaches as well as systemic and cognitive-behavioural therapy. She believes that the task of therapy is to enable an understanding and a connection with problematic aspects of the self in an honest, respectful and containing manner, which in turn stimulates emotional growth and maturity. Internal conflicts can manifest in various forms, ranging from common mental health problems such as depression, anxiety, anger and relationship problems, to more severe and complex issues such as addiction, trauma, PTSD and personality disorders. Underneath all of these symptoms lie emotions too painful to engage with. In her practice, Monika creates a safe space, in which one can explore various emotional reactions and relationship patterns leading to a development of a more fulfilling way of relating to oneself and others.
