Dr Marc Kingsley - Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Psychotherapist

BA (Wits), BA Hons (Applied Psych) (Wits), MA (Clin Psych) (Pret), CPsychol(UK)(EFPA); D.Psych (Middlesex)

Marc qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in South Africa in 1994 before moving to London in 1999. He has worked extensively as a psychological practitioner in a variety of clinical areas of practice, including acute mental health and physical health settings in the NHS, as well as independently.

Marc has a deep interest in understanding and helping clients manage a range of presenting mental health symptoms and concerns, such as depression, anxiety, trauma, and work related stress as well as supporting people to work through the emotional impact of abusive relationships; in particular those being victims of narcissistic abuse.

Marc is passionate about the mind-body relationship and how physical health and mental health are so closely intertwined. Marc works with people who have experienced challenging physical health experiences, including chemotherapy, facial injuries, and living with long-term health conditions such as diabetes and cardiac symptoms, as well as more recent conditions such as long covid syndrome. Marc is keen to support people to find meaning and adjustment in the face of adversity, and this is frequently encountered when diagnosed, or living, with a health condition or significant life changes.

Marc understands a vital role for psychology in helping clients to explore the impact of  body image and body appearance related concerns, and the often deep-seated feelings of shame and difference that come from feeling unhappy with the body. Alongside this, Marc has a keen interest in working therapeutically and addressing occupational hazards such as burnout, work related interpersonal conflict and dissatisfaction with one’s work life and identity.

Marc is a firm believer in the value of a strong and committed therapeutic relationship with clients, where you will be made to feel safe, understood and respected.

Marc works with health insurers and is registered with the HCPC and UKCP.
