Don't worry, victim mentality is a learned behaviour, which means you can also unlearn it over time and with some work.

True happiness comes when we can be our authentic True happiness comes when we can be our authentic selves. 💜

It's not always easy, especially if we had some difficult experiences in childhood. We tend to limit our sense of self to how significant others have related to us as we are learning our way to be in this world.

To start to break down these barriers we must first get to know ourselves and trust we matter. Try these 3 ways, and also consider therapy as a way of deepening your self-understanding and learn the unconscious patterns that you play out without even noticing.

Many people encourage others to ask for help when Many people encourage others to ask for help when they need it, but fail to ask for help themselves!

The feeling of 'but I'll be ok soon' or 'I can do it just..' or 'I will ask if I haven't by X...'

Sound familiar?

Take a moment just to ask yourself where this comes from, and whether it is actually time to ask for help...

Ever assumed something that made you feel absolute Ever assumed something that made you feel absolutely rubbish, only to learn that it was in no way true?

An assumption might be "My partner is acting so odd lately, I think he's cheating on me."....then it turns out he's been planning to propose a few weeks later.

Another might be "They haven't text me back in 4 hours, they obviously aren't interested in me anymore!"...then it turns out they left their phone at home by mistake that day.

We all make assumptions, but assumptions can lead us down an unhappy road. Use these tips to curb your assumption making and become more open and relaxed.

When was the last assumption you made?

Core beliefs are assumptions about ourselves, othe Core beliefs are assumptions about ourselves, others, and the world that we mistake for fact.

Unless we take the time to dig out and question our negative core beliefs they control every life decision we make.

The good news about core beliefs is that, with work and commitment, they are changeable!

Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is one of the best therapies for working on your core beliefs. It focuses on looking at how your beliefs and thoughts affect your behaviour and moods, and how you can change these cycles for good.
